Somatic Integrative Therapy

Somatic Therapy

Somatic therapy is body-based therapy that recognizes the connection between the body and the mind.

So often in our busy lives and mind-focused culture, we lose touch with our bodies and the messages that they have for us. This can keep us stuck in frustrating patterns that are no longer serving us, and that hold us back from living the life that we long to live. We hold a lifetime of experiences, emotions, and for some, trauma, that can only be accessed, released and healed when we open up communication between our bodies and our conscious minds.

Through mindful, present-moment attention and somatic tools and practices, you will learn to safely reconnect with the wisdom of your body and the healing power that it holds. You will learn simple, yet powerful skills to bring into your daily life that will help you break free of patterns and beliefs that are keeping you stuck. We’ll work together to release whatever is standing in the way of you stepping into a life of choice, agency and freedom.

An Integrative Approach

With over twenty years in the field of mind-body healing, I bring an integrative approach tailored to the needs and goals of each individual client. There is no one-size-fits all therapy. Your journey is unique and personal, and so is the recipe for meeting you exactly where you are.

The foundation of our work together is to build a relationship where you feel safe, seen and understood. We are in this together. Within the safety and support of the therapeutic relationship, I weave together various frameworks and approaches to support you on your personal journey. I will meet you exactly where you are, and offer a path that leads you to where you want to be.

My integrative approach draws from Attachment Theory, Somatic Experiencing, Mindfulness, Parts Work, Emotionally Focused Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).

Therapy should never end in the therapy office.

Therapy is a springboard for you to take what is learned, felt and understood into the world.

We practice in the room together so that you can apply the skills and insights into your life daily.

Together, we’ll create the change that you are longing for.
